At MPCS, we have an extensive Wellness Program that encourages healing through gentle physical activities, including Customized Exercise Programs, Pilates, Yoga, Nutrition and more.
Tailgating season is upon us. Volunteer to being a healthy snack like a fruit or veggie tray, nuts, hummus or low calorie snack packs to the tailgate.
HOW TO GET STARTED:
To participate in our Wellness Center, please call Carla Duhon or Travis Tolbert and set up an initial program appointment. Our wellness services are available 5 days a week to any cancer survivor.
WELLNESS PROGRAMS:
MilesStrong - 10 week program for cancer patients in treatment. The program specializes in exercise, education and support.
Toning & Pilates - 30 minutes of light weights and 30 minutes of core exercising. Pilates classes are offered twice a week with a certified instructor. All skill levels are welcome.
Yoga - promotes physical health through stretching and meditative exercise. Restorative Yoga classes are offered twice a week with a certified instructor. All skill levels are welcome.
Personal Training - physical fitness program for survivors that pairs each participant with a personal trainer. Every exercise prescription is tailored to each persons goals and limitations. Training is available 5 days a week.
Cancer and Nutrition Classes- offers researched based information and cooking demonstrations to help decrease risk of cancer. Call Carla Duhon for class schedule.
FREE Private Consultations: Mandi Romero, P.D. with Professional Arts Pharmacy is offering free private consultations for any clients once a month. She is available to answer any medication questions along with information about safe supplements for Cancer Survivors.

"If I beat cancer I could beat my weight problem. I could do it," Rebecca says. And she did. To date she's shed more than 100 pounds and there's no stopping her now."I can do it on my own," she says noting that the monitored program is over and she's working out independently at the Wellness Center. "They can't kick me out of that place." Thanks to cooking classes at Miles Perret, she's learning a new way to eat. "It's completely change my life," she says. "I didn't feel it was the end for me. I knew I was going to live. I had a positive feeling. I wanted to be positive for my kids."
